What Are Schools Doing to Our Children?
By Flora Morris Brown, Ph.D. | April 15, 2008
After 40 years of teaching and 38 years of parenting, I have a lot of opinions about what goes on in education. I recently watched a video that expressed my view on one of the travesties committed by schools: the killing of creativity.
In this insightful and delightfully entertaining video Sir Ken Robinson points out the failure of schools to cultivate creativity and even how they undermine it.
Don’t let his “Sir” title put you off. His anecdotes and self-deprecating humor will have you LOL while his serious message will resonate with you as you recall your own school experiences and those great people who thrived in spite of theirs.
I urge you to watch this insightful and entertaining video. You’ll be glad you did. Then share your reaction.
